This book is excellent--if you're OK with graphic sex. the prudes who made a stink over "Marley and Me," would have apoplexy if they read this. I love authors who create memorable characters--Grisham, King, and in a few cases Lawrence Sanders. this, and "Passion of Molly T.," are his best works. Peter S. is Peter Scuro, an out-of-work actor. A woman approaches him offering money for "a good hard bang." From here, the two of them open a high-dollar male sex service for women with too much money and not enough action in their lives. The business flourishes beyond their wildest dreams--with mixed results for them both. Nearly 30 years out from reading this as a college boy, and the characters are still vivid--Peter and Martha, the two mainstays of the business; Jenny Tolliver, Peter's rag of a girl friend; Arthur, Peter's wimpy roommate; Luke Futter--the sort of dirty cop without whom a business like theirs could never keep its doors swinging; and the women--even though their appearances were brief, they were vividly drawn by Sanders. If anything, this is better than the Edward X. Delaney series--and the one I read in that series was a good book indeed.
