Synopsis
[Back cover] "Upon reaching their "two-digit" birthdays, the six Patrick brothers became "Associate Breadwinners" in order to help out their widowed mother and earn a little money to jingle in their pockets. Patrick's Corner, the busiest street corner in town, was so named by the Patricks because they had a sort of monopoly on working the crowded locale, shining shoes and hawking the evening newspaper. With age, when one brother would move on to more lucrative pastures, the next Patrick in line would take over his job. Sean Patrick, the baby of the family, tells the story of his "comin' up" in an Irish Catholic family that was financially poor, but rich with guidance, love, respect, and support.
