I do a lot of reading, but this book is among my top 5 favorites of all time. If you have read The Stand by Stephen King, this is somewhat parallel, only this disaster is of the nuclear variety. The characters are also more developed, in my opinion, and the plot has many more twists and turns.

This Book Really Holds The Reader. The Story Is So Well Told That A Person Is Drawn Into The Quest. The Reader Becomes A Silent Observer Caught In The Struggle For Survival...The Book Is Set In The USA So It Becomes Personal. It Was The very First Book That I Ever Read. It's Led Me To Read Everything Mr McCammon Has Ever Written. I have Read This Book Many Times Since Then. But I Always Find Comfort In This Book And The Characters Are Like Old Friends To Me Now... So I Pay Them a Visit Once Every Couple Of Years. Swan Song Is A Must Have Master Piece...

I have read this novel 3 times. The first time, I took 3 days off so I could read it without interruption.
Swan goes from an innocent child to the driving force of defeating evil. Not forgetting the wonderful Sister(?) although she lives amongst the decay of an amercian city, she becomes a pinacle in Swan's life. And as they slowly become involved in each of their lives, alone, they can bring down the forces of the Man with the Scarlet eye
A masterpeice of Horror, one of my top ten books of all time. Darkness and Light can become one !
Arkady Raven Missen, Great Britain
