- Synopsis
- If the men who met at the Constitutional Convention were alive today, they would no doubt be proud of the results of their work. Democracy in the United States has become the form of government that is most often copied around the world. The 1990s present an entirely different world than that of the 1770s. Computers, telephones, satellite communications, nuclear weapons, and modern medicine create conditions that the delegates could not have imagined in 1787. Nevertheless, the basic principles set forth in the United States Constitution still guide the nation as every new age dawns.
