- Duscha was a reporter for the Washington Post during the FBI's legal cases against Billie Sol Estes. Duscha went on to research the history of the the farmers' subsidy and commodities programs, finding that the program is no longer effective. He makes a case for suggestive changes. In his Author's Note, Duscha states that this is not written in research language; instead is written for the layperson.
