The ABCs of Bookshare for Educators - Assign Books

Assign Books

Students on Organizational accounts can only read books that have been assigned to them. Books can be assigned individually with the Assign & Read feature, or in groups of books at one time via Reading Lists. You can also subscribe to and/or copy Reading Lists from other Sponsors in your organization as well as Bookshare’s ready-made lists. Don't forget to instruct your students to log into Bookshare with their assigned username and password to find their assigned books.

Assign & Read

Sponsors on organizational accounts can quickly assign a book to one or more students using the “Assign & Read” feature. Simply search for a book, select the "Assign Button" and then select the member(s) you wish to assign the book to.

Subscribe to/Copy Existing List

You can Subscribe to and/or copy Reading Lists from other Sponsors in your organization and Reading Lists curated by Bookshare which can be found on the Browse Page. Reading Lists to which you subscribe will automatically update with new titles as the owner of the list makes changes. Copying a list takes a "snapshot" of a Reading List, which you can then customize by adding or removing books or changing the name.
