Purchasing Book Blocks for an Organization
What are Book Blocks?
Organizations serving people with print disabilities can join Bookshare. A facilitator, such as a teacher, a librarian, a resource specialist, will download books on behalf of clients or students using a book block. A book download is one book for one member.
For example, a block of 30 book downloads can be used to download 3 textbooks to give to 10 students. Or it could be used to give 15 books to 2 voracious readers!
The cost per book download varies based on the size of the book block purchased and the country of the organization. Books are available in blocks of 30, 60 or 100 book downloads.
Rather than downloading on behalf of their clients, some organizations may prefer to pay part or all of the cost of individual memberships for their clients.
