Bookshare®'s fee structure is based on the World Bank designation of countries as being high-income, upper-middle income, lower-middle income or lower-income. All fees listed below are in U.S. Dollars (USD).

High Income (no discount)


Countries such as: U.S.*, Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, the UK, and most European countries

• $25 start-up fee
• $50 annual subscription fee
  (up to 200 books per month)

• $300 for 30 books
• $450 for 60 books
• $600 for 100 books

Upper-Middle Income


Countries such as: Argentina, Brazil, China, Ecuador, Jamaica, Mexico, Romania, South Africa and Turkey

• $10 start-up fee
• $20 annual subscription fee
  (up to 200 books per month)

• $120 for 30 books
• $180 for 60 books
• $240 for 100 books

Low or Lower-Middle Income


Countries such as: Egypt, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Philippines, and Sri Lanka

• $5 start-up fee
• $10 annual subscription fee
  (up to 200 books per month)

• $60 for 30 books
• $90 for 60 books
• $120 for 100 books

* U.S. Students: Through an award from the U.S. Department of Education Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP), Bookshare offers free membership to U.S. Students who are enrolled in a 4-week or longer course at a valid U.S. school.
