How do I use the Reading Lists?
Reading Lists allow you to create collections of books by subjects, grades, years or any way you wish.
Video Tutorial: Create Reading Lists
For educators:
- Log in to your account.
- Select the My Bookshare link in the top right corner of the screen.
- Select the My Reading Lists link on the left side of the page.
- Select the Create button on the bottom of the page.
- Enter in a name for the reading list. Under the Sharing section, select "Member" to share the list between you and your student(s), or "Org" to allow other Sponsors to view and add books.
- Select the Save button to create the list.
- Select the "Add Members" button, then select the student(s) you wish to share the list with, then select the "Add Selected Members" button.
To add books to from within this list:
- Select the "Titles" tab, then the "Add Books" button.
- Enter in the title, author, or ISBN of the book in the search box.
- Select the book title(s) and select the "Save and Close" button if you are done or the "Save and Add More" button to continue adding books.
To add books through the general search:
- Search for a book in the search box at the top of every page, the Advanced Search page or the Browse page.
- Once you've found a book in the search results, select the Add to Reading List link.
- Choose a Reading List from the drop-down menu, then select the Add button.

For Individual Members:
To create a Reading List:
- Log in to your Bookshare account.
- Select the My Bookshare link.
- Select the My Reading Lists link.
- Select the Create button.
- Enter a name for the Reading List, then select the Save button.
To add books to an existing Reading List:
- Select the My Reading Lists link, then select the list you wish to add books to.
- Select the "Add Books" button.
- In the Search box, enter the title, author or ISBN of the book you want.
- Select the book title(s) and select the "Save and Close" button if you are done or the "Save and Add More" button to continue adding books.
To add books through the general search:
- Search for a book in the search box at the top of every page, the Advanced Search page or the Browse page.
- Once you've found a book in the search results, select the Add to Reading List link next to the "Read Now" button.
- Choose a Reading List from the drop-down menu, then select the Add button.
