How do I manage book recommendation preferences?

Personal recommendations are titles suggested for you or your students based on books previously read.

Manage Recommendations for Yourself

Recommendations for Individual Members are automatically enabled. You can manage your recommendation preferences or turn them off with these steps.

1. Log in to Bookshare.
2. Under your name select the Account link.
3. Select the Preferences link.
4. Under Discover Page Preferences, check / uncheck to enable or disable Personal Recommendations.
5. Select up to 5 categories to display on your Discover page, select Save.

Manage Recommendations for Students

Student book recommendations are initially disabled. Teachers can turn on their student’s recommendations and manage their settings with these steps.

1. Log in to Bookshare.
2. Under the Manage heading, select the students / members link.
3. Select the edit link (pencil icon) for a student.
4. Under Discover Page Preferences, check / uncheck Personal Recommendations to enable or disable recommendations.
5. Select up to 5 categories for recommendations and select Save.
