Do I need an National Federation of the Blind membership to get the discount?
Yes. Bookshare will confirm membership with the National Federation of the Blind. If a membership cannot be confirmed, you will be required to pay the full annual membership price and will receive a separate charge in the amount of the discount.
Which discount can I use for expired Bookshare memberships?
Expired Bookshare memberships can renew with the 20% NFBRENEW20 promo code. The 30% NFBNEW30 is for first-time Bookshare members.
Who can join Bookshare (who qualifies)?
Bookshare is for people who find it difficult to read traditional print books due to a disability like dyslexia, low vision, blindness, or physical disability. Learn about qualifications.

Read as many books as you like with no wait times or due dates.
How do I submit proof of disability (POD)?
Attending the 2025 Convention In New Orleans? Your proof of disability will be approved when visiting Table B14. After the convention, Bookshare will collect your proof of disability documentation.
Can’t attend the convention? Then submit Proof of Disability:
- If you are a member of Learning Ally or NLS, you can submit your member information as a form of proof of disability. Learn more about submitting proof of disability.
- Download and fill in our Proof of Disability form. Have a qualified professional sign your form.
