This book is an interesting read. The protagonist’s name is Phillip Malloy. He begins humming and singing loudly during the national anthem, when they are instructed to be silent. Phillip ends up being sent to the Assistant Principal and on his third violation he is suspended. He does not inform his parents of the silent rule. Due to this, they believe it is the school's fault and they are violating his civil rights. This book written by Avi has many kinds of formats. Therefore, it shows everyone's point of view. "Nothing but the Truth" is also a quick read. I recommend this novel to someone that does not have a lot of time, because most of the chapters are fairly short. I liked how the story shows that a problem can start small and grow to a huge conflict.
