One of the author's lesser-known works, a romance set in the mid-1700s. Red cloth binding with gilt and white titles block on the front cover with gilt titles, gilt titles on spine and gilt top edges of pages, decorated endpapers. Cover faded and spotted at edges, spine darkened and cocked with a light crease, corners and spine end bumped, some light interior foxing, frontispiece tissue wrinkled and partly detached, binding tight.
