It discusses how the increased reliance on ‘vulnerability’ to guide states’ replies to refugee movements improves refugee protection, while also generating contestations and exclusionary effects that may cause harm. Based on data collected as part of the EU Horizon 2020 VULNER project, the book examines existing legal and bureaucratic approaches to refugees’ vulnerabilities, which it confronts with the refugees’ experiences and understandings of their own life challenges. It analyses the perspectives from state actors, humanitarian organisations, and social and aid workers, as well as the refugees themselves. By emphasizing how these perspectives relate and feed into each other, the book unpacks the humanitarian replies from states and the international community to refugee movements – including in their implied exclusionary dimensions that generate contestations and implementation difficulties which, if not tackled and understood properly, risk exacerbating and/or producing vulnerabilities among refugees.

This crackdown on illicit drug cultivation sparked an uprising among the region's cocaleros, small-scale coca producers and harvest workers. More than 200,000 campesinos marched that summer to protest the heightened threat to their livelihoods. Between the Guerrillas and the State is an ethnographic analysis of the cocalero social movement that emerged from the uprising. Mara Clemencia Ramrez focuses on how the movement unfolded in the department (state) of Putumayo, which has long been subject to the de facto rule of guerrilla and paramilitary armies. The national government portrayed the area as uncivilized and disorderly and refused to see the coca growers as anything but criminals. Ramrez chronicles how the cocaleros demanded that the state recognize campesinos as citizens, provide basic services, and help them to transition from coca growing to legal and sustainable livelihoods.

Auch wenn das Process Mining die Möglichkeit schafft, die Lieferketten transparent darzulegen und systematisch zu verbessern, bieten derzeit ausschließlich Systemanbieter praktische Einblicke in die Anwendung des Process Mining. Zwar unterstützt der wissenschaftliche Diskurs die Nutzung des Process Mining im Lieferkettenmanagement, es fehlt jedoch eine objektivierte Diskussionen, auf die betrieblich Handelnde zurückgreifen können. Daher setzt sich diese Thesis mit der Bewertung der Anwendung des Process Mining aus einer dualen Perspektive von Wissenschaft und Praxis auseinander.

Das historische Wachstum variabel verzinslicher Passivprodukte führt in der gegenwärtigen Zinsphase zu deutlichen Bilanzstrukturverschiebungen, welche die Bewertungsmodelle für variable Einlagen erneut erheblich beeinträchtigen. Große Volumina, die jederzeit von Kunden in Anspruch genommen bzw. gekündigt werden können, müssen richtig bewertet und im Rahmen des Zinsrisikomanagements in das Zinsänderungsrisiko aufgenommen werden und richtige Impulse für die Vertriebssteuerung liefern. Darüber hinaus stellen die variablen Einlagen für die meisten Kreditinstitute die wichtigste Quelle der Refinanzierung dar. Es ist somit eine betriebswirtschaftliche Notwendigkeit, die exakten Einflussdeterminanten des Volumens von variabel verzinslichen Produkten empirisch zu untersuchen, damit die Produkte angemessen bewertet und gesteuert werden können. Zusätzlich fordert die Aufsicht, nachvollziehbare Annahmen für Positionen mit unbestimmter Kapital- oder Zinsbindung festzulegen.

by Saskia SardesaiDisruptive Ereignisse wie die Corona-Pandemie zeigen, dass Transparenz und Prozessalternativen für eine schnelle Erholung von CKD-Produktionsnetzwerken notwendig sind. Dies bedingt eine fortlaufende Anpassung der Prozesse durch Gestaltungsoptionen, um die Versorgungssicherheit durch Robustheit des Servicelevels zu gewährleisten. Die Autorin erarbeitet daher einen Gestaltungsrahmen der Supply-Chain-Robustheit. Dieser sieht zunächst eine Entscheidungsunterstützung zur Identifikation, Auswahl und Konfiguration von Gestaltungsoptionen vor. Zur Prüfung der Verbesserung der Robustheit des Servicelevels schließt sich eine angepasste, multivariate Prozessfähigkeitsanalyse an. Es entsteht ein Robustheitsindex, der Gestaltungsoptionen für ein CKD-Produktionsnetzwerk unter Risiken vergleicht. Eine Fallstudie der Automobilindustrie dient der Anwendung und Validierung des entwickelten Ansatzes zur Bewertung und Verbesserung der Robustheit des Servicelevels. In Kombination mit einem zusätzlichen Stabilitätsindex bietet der Robustheitsindex eine Grundlage zur Entscheidungsfindung mit Künstlicher Intelligenz.
