Seit mehr als zwei Jahren befassen sich Event-Studiengänge an Hochschulen und Universitäten mit der pandemiebedingten Umstellung der Lehre auf onlinebasierte Formate. Für Lehrende und Studierende gab und gibt es dabei eine Reihe von Herausforderungen und Schwierigkeiten zu meistern wie z. B. die Frage nach der inhaltlichen und didaktischen Umgestaltung der Lehre, der Aufrechterhaltung von Motivation bei Lehrenden und Studierenden oder den besten technischen Tools.Diesen und anderen Fragen wurde im Rahmen des 2. Event Education Symposium nachgegangen. Unter dem Motto „Mastering Event Education“ diskutierten Lehrende und Studierende, wie sie die Krise gemeistert haben und mit welchen Ausblick sie auf die Zukunft schauen. Teil des Buches sind wissenschaftliche Reflexionen ebenso wie praktische Lehr- und Lerncases.

Das Forschungsfeld zur Digitalisierung im Hochschulwesen weist eine zentrale Lücke auf: Die Auswirkungen der organisationalen Rahmenbedingungen auf die digitale Transformation. Ausgehend von der Grundannahme, dass die digitale Transformation nicht organisationsneutral erfolgt, werden die organisationalen Effekte der Universität auf den digitalen Veränderungsprozess im Spannungsverhältnis von akademischer Selbst- und universitärer Zentralverwaltung betrachtet. Hierfür wird mit einem systemtheoretischen Organisationsverständnis sowie einer äquivalenzfunktionalistischen Theorietechnik operiert und eine Beschreibung der organisationalen Funktionslogiken, ausgehend vom Bezugsproblem unklarer rationaler Technologien in Forschung und Lehre, entwickelt.Der Einbezug organisationaler Funktionslogiken erzeugt ein weiterführendes Verständnis der digitalen Transformation an Universitäten. Diese erfolgt im Sinne einer graduellen Transformation und ist durch eine Vielzahl unterschiedlicher, lose gekoppelter Prozesse und Entwicklungen gekennzeichnet. Neben der Art der Transformation und dessen organisationalen Bedingungen stehen insbesondere die Muster der Koordination organisationaler Prozesse und deren Auswirkungen auf beiden Seiten der Doppelhierarchie im Fokus.

Auf der Ebene der Hochschulen ergibt sich für die Akteure und Akteurinnen in der Programmplanung und -entwicklung ein Spannungsfeld, da sowohl Funktionslogiken der Wissenschaftsinstitution als auch Mechanismen des Weiterbildungsmarktes in der Hochschulweiterbildung wirksam werden. Die Programmverantwortlichen üben in diesem Umfeld eine aktive und gestaltende Rolle aus, indem sie Weiterbildungen inhaltlich entwickeln und marktbezogen vertreiben. Als methodologischer Zugang dient die Konventionenökonomie. Es wird untersucht, wie verantwortliche Akteure und Akteurinnen in der Weiterbildung an Hochschulen ihre Planungsentscheide auf der Basis von Konventionen begründen, und welchem Qualitätsverständnis zu hochschulischen Weiterbildungen dabei gefolgt wird.

Originally published in 1947, this book, the third of the series, deals with hockey coaching and practice in schools. It was produced in a School, and once again the action photographs are of boys who were at that time in the School Team. The author had considerable experience in the coaching of school hockey.The book opens with descriptions of the basic arts: hitting, gathering, dribbling, tackling etc., required of all players, after which the play and tactics of each position on the field are analysed. A specially interesting chapter is that on team tactics and positional play, and this chapter is illustrated by some excellent photographs of a tactical table, in which the dispositions in various situations are diagrammatically set out. Other chapters deal with captaincy, coaching, school organization, how to watch a match, and some explanatory comments on the rules of the game.The book is illustrated by many magnificent action photographs. While this book was primarily for schools, the instructional detail and the attractiveness of the photographs would also have appealed to more mature hockey players. Today it can be enjoyed in its historical context.
