A Time for Judas
by Morley CallaghanThis audacious and intriguing new version of the story of Christ’s trial, crucifixion, and resurrection is based on the writings of Philo of Crete, a secretary to Pontius Pilate. Throughout his time as Pilate’s scribe, he attended Christ’s trial, mingled with city prostitutes and desert bandits, and became acquainted with Judas Iscariot. It was through Judas that he learned the real story of the betrayal and what actually happened to Christ’s body. His convincing account is a radical and dramatic version of the commonly accepted story.
A Time for Peace
by Barbara CameronJenny Bontrager is finally at a place of love and belonging with her husband, Matthew, and his children. Life seems golden with both her family and career as a writer. But everything Jenny now believes in is thrown into question with the discovery of a long-lost letter from her father. A Time for Remembering: The Ruth Graham Bell Story
by Patricia Daniels CornwellFor the first time, Ruth Bell Graham shares the full story of her life and what it is like to be the wife of the most famous Christian evangelist of this century. Drawing on previously unpublished letters, diary accounts, and personal interviews with family and friends, Patricia Daniels Cornwell creates a richly detailed, deeply personal account of Ruth's transformation from spirited child of medical missionaries into a dynamic, highly motivated woman and major world figure. A Time for Remembering does not avoid the difficulties--maintaining a nurturing homelife in the face of outside pressures, her near-fatal accident--which have only affirmed her faith. What emerges is a loving portrait of a remarkable, vital Christian wife, mother, and woman with her own unsung ministry to the downtrodden.
A Time of Hope
by Terri ReedThe new temporary pastor of Hope Community Church was everything Mara Zimmer was trying to avoid. Jacob Durand was young, good-looking and interested. She was terrified that if he learned about her tragic past, he'd turn his back on her, too. Jacob didn't know what Mara was hiding, only that somehow she'd managed to steal his heart. Yet, he had no right to feel the way he did. Soon his tenure as pastor would be over, and he'd move on to greater opportunities. How could he leave behind the woman he longed to marry?
A Time of Sifting: Mystical Marriage and the Crisis of Moravian Piety in the Eighteenth Century (Pietist, Moravian, and Anabaptist Studies #1)
by Paul PeuckerAt the end of the 1740s, the Moravians, a young and rapidly expanding radical-Pietist movement, experienced a crisis soon labeled the Sifting Time. As Moravian leaders attempted to lead the church away from the abuses of the crisis, they also tried to erase the memory of this controversial and embarrassing period. Archival records were systematically destroyed, and official histories of the church only dealt with this period in general terms. It is not surprising that the Sifting Time became both a taboo and an enigma in Moravian historiography. In A Time of Sifting, Paul Peucker provides the first book-length, in-depth look at the Sifting Time and argues that it did not consist of an extreme form of blood-and-wounds devotion, as is often assumed. Rather, the Sifting Time occurred when Moravians began to believe that the union with Christ could be experienced not only during marital intercourse but during extramarital sex as well. Peucker shows how these events were the logical consequence of Moravian teachings from previous years. As the nature of the crisis became evident, church leaders urged the members to revert to their earlier devotion of the blood and wounds of Christ. By returning to this earlier phase, the Moravians lost their dynamic character and became more conservative. It was at this moment that the radical-Pietist Moravians of the first half of the eighteenth century reinvented themselves as a noncontroversial evangelical denomination.

A Time to Keep Silence
by Karen Armstrong Patrick Leigh FermorWhile still a teenager, Patrick Leigh Fermor made his way across Europe, as recounted in his classic memoirs, A Time of Gifts and Between the Woods and the Water. During World War II, he fought with local partisans against the Nazi occupiers of Crete. But in A Time to Keep Silence, Leigh Fermor writes about a more inward journey, describing his several sojourns in some of Europe's oldest and most venerable monasteries. He stays at the Abbey of St. Wandrille, a great repository of art and learning; at Solesmes, famous for its revival of Gregorian chant; and at the deeply ascetic Trappist monastery of La Grande Trappe, where monks take a vow of silence. Finally, he visits the rock monasteries of Cappadocia, hewn from the stony spires of a moonlike landscape, where he seeks some trace of the life of the earliest Christian anchorites. More than a history or travel journal, however, this beautiful short book is a meditation on the meaning of silence and solitude for modern life. Leigh Fermor writes, "In the seclusion of a cell--an existence whose quietness is only varied by the silent meals, the solemnity of ritual, and long solitary walks in the woods--the troubled waters of the mind grow still and clear, and much that is hidden away and all that clouds it floats to the surface and can be skimmed away; and after a time one reaches a state of peace that is unthought of in the ordinary world."

A Time to Laugh
by Kelly Eileen HakeHe'd seen the eyes whose sparkle teased him his entire life awash with tears of joy. Everyone knew Nessa wanted to be his wife-Nessa herself had made sure of it. So why did she flee what she claimed to have wanted so badly? Nothing is sure when it comes to women. Michael's words from earlier that day rose to his thoughts. Fair enough, Isaac allowed. But it wasn't unreasonable to assume that the woman who had been all but a man's betrothed since the cradle should accept his proposal. Really, asking the question itself was more a formality than anything else. To think he'd wasted so much thought and time in preparing his proposal! He kicked the stone upon which she'd sat, dislodging smaller pieces to rain on the grass beneath. How dare she refuse him? Nessa had led him on for years only to reject him when he came to the sticking point? Unbelievable! He strode through the woods, breaths coming fast and shallow as he stomped away from the site of his humiliation. Nessa was his by rights. Her willingness to be his bride was owed him. How could she turn her back on him as though his offer was hardly worth the breath it took her to refuse? Lord, I pushed aside my own desires to shoulder my responsibility to Nessa and our families. I longed to choose my own wife, lay the path Tdfollow, but knew it wasn't my place to flout the plan You had for me. I bowed to what I believed to be Your will. How could I make such a mistake?
