Trimantra:
Trinitarian Theology and Power Relations
by Meredith MinisterThis text crafts a trinitarian theology that reorients theology from presumptions about the immateriality of the Trinity toward the places where the Trinity matters--material bodies in historical contexts and the intersecting ways political and theological power structures normalize and marginalize bodies on the basis of material difference.
Trinitarian Theology in Medieval and Reformation Thought
by John T. SlotemakerThis book is an introduction to trinitarian theology as it developed from the late medieval period. John T. Slotemaker presents an overview of the central aspects of trinitarian theology by focusing on four themes: theological epistemology, the emanations in God, the divine relations, and the Trinity of persons. He does so by exploring a broad range of theological opinions on each subject and delineating the options that existed for medieval theologians from the early thirteenth century through the sixteenth. He argues that despite the diversity of opinion on a given subject, there is a normative theological center that grounds late medieval trinitarian theology. This center consists of theological developments involving the adoption of Peter Lombard’s Sentences as a theological textbook, the conciliar decisions of Lateran IV, and a shared Aristotelian philosophical background of Western trinitarian theology.
Trinity
by Joseph F. GirzoneBestselling author Joseph Girzone returns to the reflections on his personal spirituality typical of Never Alone and A Portrait of Jesus, his most popular books since the original Joshua. With Trinity, Joseph Girzone guides readers to a deeper understanding of this foundational concept, explaining why it is not antiquated theological dogma, but a living expression of the very essence of God. He offers support and clarity to those who already believe in God, and invites those who profess not to believe on a journey to find “an image of a God who is believable, and perhaps, even lovable. ” For centuries, Christians have struggled to understand the nature of God as three persons in one. But with grace similar to that which allowed Saint Patrick to explain the Trinity by using a shamrock, Girzone takes a step back from the most arcane explanations to offer a simple, useful understanding. He begins by showing the ways God was perceived by the ancient Hebrews and reveals how Jesus forever changed that image of God. As he chronicles the growth from the time of Jesus and the early Church, writing about the challenges Christianity faced from both within and without, Girzone elucidates the mysterious ways the Trinity works in the world and especially, in the Church, as an extension of Jesus’ presence in history. Writing with passion and insight, he helps readers understand how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit work within individuals as well, guiding them as they struggle along the pathways of life on Earth. From the Hardcover edition.

Trinity Without Hierarchy: Reclaiming Nicene Orthodoxy in Evangelical Theology
by Michael F. Bird Scott HarrowerA defense of equality among the persons of the TrinityIn response to those complementarian theologians who assert that the Son is eternally subordinate to the Father, the contributors to Trinity Without Hierarchy contend that this view misconstrues the orthodox doctrine of the Trinity and reduces the Son to a lower level of glory and majesty than the Father. Surveying Scripture, church history, and theology, sixteen contributors present a defense of the full and equal authority of all three members of the Trinity while critiquing approaches that border on semi-Arianism. In particular, the creedal confessions of Nicaea are upheld as the historical standard by which any proposed Trinitarian doctrine should be judged. While some contributors hold complementarian and others egalitarian viewpoints, all agree that Trinitarian relations are not a proper basis for understanding gender roles. Trinity Without Hierarchy is indispensable reading for anyone interested in the current debate over the relationship between Trinitarian theology and the roles of men and women.
Trinity Worship: Becoming Like Christ In How We Relate, How We Do Things, How We Organize, How We Learn, And How We Lead.
by Dave YaukEndorsement from Charlie Hall: In this day and time, we need a loud grace-filled call back to Biblical wisdom around worship as a fully orbed experience of God as Trinity. The people of God need the Father’s heart, the work of Jesus, and the experience of the Holy Spirit. Trinity worship is that call to the Church. The Trinity is not just an "I" but a "We." We, to the contrary, live in a modern age overwhelmed with personalized worship and discipleship methods. People roam about desperately trying to build their own fame and kingdoms all the while bearing the fruit of anxiety, stress, and burden. Deep within we know we are meant to point to something outside and greater than ourselves, but our attempts to give allegiance to lesser loves and benign kings sitting high on imaginary thrones have left us empty. Trinity Worship sheds light on the perfection we're searching for. The word that best describes the pursuit of what is ultimate is worship. Worship goes beyond just singing. It's a world word. It's an everything word. Who or what we honor as an authority, ruler, and as worthy of our trust, will determine how we handle all matters pertaining to home, work, and play. This book ponders deeply the creativity, family, and friendly nature of God and his kingdom in order to best describe how we as humans are to fully enjoy our existence. The Trinity has a way he relates, a way he does things, a way he teachers and desires us to learn, an order for life, and a clear mission. By trusting in him, pointing to him, bowing to his reign, and following after his nature as we carry his image, we will bear the fruit of life, joy, and peace.
Trinity and Reality: An Introduction to the Christian Faith
by Ralph Allan SmithThe Trinity is the heart of the Christian gospel, but Father, Son, and Holy Spirit seldom occupies that position in contemporary discussions of the Christian worldview. This book helps fill the need by unveiling the Trinity at the center of reality. Ralph Smith shows how Trinitarian life shapes covenants, creation, revelation, miracle, kingdom, self, church, and eternity. He compares the Trinity to opposing viewpoints, including secularism and other religions, highlighting the practical implications of Trinitarian and non-Trinitarian views for the individual and society. This book provides basic training for all Christians, especially students, high school and up, who desire to transform the foundations of culture.

Approaching the study of the relationship between Christianity and other religions from the perspective of the Trinity, this book surveys all the major contributions to the topic by leading theologians at the international and ecumenical level. Trinity: One God, Three Persons (People's Bible Teachings)
by Richard D BalgeWhat do Christians mean when we say we worship a triune God?Two of the most common and oldest of the Christian confessions of faith are the Nicene and Apostles’ Creeds. In those statements of faith, Christians profess belief in the triune God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Are these three persons the same God? Is the Trinity just one of the many ways to describe God? What does triune even mean?Trinity uses the Bible itself to show the truth about the Trinity. It answers the questions, “Can God be known?” and “How can God be known?” and comforts you with the knowledge that what God says about himself in the Bible is what you absolutely need to know in order to be saved.Through this book, you will grow in appreciation for what God says about himself—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—in his Word!
Trinity: The God We Don't Know
by Jason ByasseeMost people assume they know what they mean when they use the word "God." They mean a powerful old guy in the sky ready to obliterate us if we do wrong but basically benevolent, if a little senile. The Christian doctrine of the Trinity shows us God is vastly more interesting. God is actually fleshed among us in Jesus, poured out on us in the Holy Spirit’s intoxication of the church. God is three divine persons in perfect harmony and beauty—and God invites us into that unimaginable intimacy. We don’t know this God, but we should. Trinity uses scripture, the Early Church tradition, and some modern theology to argue that God is a mystery whom we can’t understand but who can shape our misunderstanding to allow for faithful living and holy love of God and neighbor."JasonByassee thinks like a theologian, writes like a journalist, andcommunicates like a storyteller. We live in a time of trinitariandissonance, when the central doctrine of the Christian faith isstrangely neglected by most Christians. Byassee’s wonderful explorationof the Trinity offers a remedy for that by providing a meat-and-potatoesintroduction to the God who is at once Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Anexcellent spiritual guide for both mature Christians and those brandnew to the Christian faith." —Rev. Dr. Andrew C. Thompson, AssistantProfessor of Historical Theology &Wesleyan Studies, MemphisTheological Seminary, Memphis, TN, and Wesley Scholar for the ArkansasConference of the United Methodist Church"Intrying to communicate the trinitarian relationship, Byassee succeeds inmaking the indescribable a little more coherent while reminding us ofthe all-consuming love of God. Trinity is a little book ofrigorous thought and deep devotion. It is rare these days to find a workof theology that stirs the intellect, the heart, and the spirit. And Ihave to admit, in reading this book, I fell in love with the Holy Spiritall over again." —Enuma Okoro, Nigerian-American writer, speaker, andaward-winning author of Reluctant Pilgrim, Silence, and Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals
Trinity: Truth Or Myth?
by William MaidmanThis book is controversial in character because the author questions the most fundamental of all Christian teachings: whether any of the established churches are worshipping the true God of the Bible? This book should be read by every professing Christian and by those former Christians who have given up their belief in God. The book is a refreshingly new look at an old subject, the doctrine of the Trinity. The book is ambitious to say the least; being intricate in detail, covering a very wide range of evidence, and yet is engaging and easy to understand. This is because the well-researched and wide-ranging scope of evidence is set out under logical headings which makes it easier for the reader to follow and understand the arguments put forward. Whether you accept the author’s conclusions or not, the book is thought provoking to the extent that you will have no choice but to reevaluate your own understanding of who is the true God.
