Deshalb werden in diesem Buch die Einsturzhäufigkeiten für verschiedene Bauwerkstypen, wie Brücken, Dämme, Tunnel, Stützbauwerke und Hochbauten, ermittelt. Die Einsturzhäufigkeit gehört wie die Versagenswahrscheinlichkeit zur Stochastik. Daher werden die beobachteten mittleren Einsturzhäufigkeiten und die berechneten mittleren Versagenswahrscheinlichkeiten verglichen. Bei diesem Vergleich zeigt sich, dass die Einsturzhäufigkeiten in der Regel niedriger sind als die berechneten Versagenswahrscheinlichkeiten.
