We might be presuming certain things and may not be taking informed financial decisions. If this situation has to be overcome it is essential to make banking known to one and all and de-jargonize the banking world. The objective of education is to spread knowledge. Banking On Accessibility

by Xavier'S Resource Centre For The Visually Challenged

This is a representation report voicing concerns of Persons with Disabilities in access to financial services despite existing legal and executive provisions mandating their financial inclusion. It is a comprehensive document that can be used by regulatory and governance authorities like the Reserve Bank of India, banks, other associated bodies, decision makers and policy experts. It shall aid them in monitoring and evaluation of existing guidelines and the level of their implementation in reality. It articulates problems faced by users and makes strong recommendations to improve the scenario. The scope of the report is largely focussed on infringement of rights of persons with visual impairment who use or propose to use banking facilities. However, we propose that a similar in-depth study be conducted to understand the ground level realities for various other kinds of disabilities and ensure that everyone has a seamless and accessible banking experience.

by Dada Bhagwan

The Baptist Story: Sermons on the Trail of Blood

by A. A. Davis M. J. Lee

The Baptist Story is a story of struggle and triumph, victory and heartbreak. There have always existed, although sometimes in the most remote regions, those who sought to maintain pure New Testament practice in the face of all adversity. These believers were a simple people who led a simple life, and who sought to adhere to the simple, primitive practices of the New Testament. For their adherence to the simple truths of God’s precious Word, these Godly saints suffered banishment, imprisonment, persecution, some even suffering death by fire and sword. Their persecutions were sanctioned by the pagan religious establishments of that day. But these saints endured because “they loved not their lives unto the death.” They counted the truth of God’s Word more precious than family, friends, and their very lives. This excellent work, which is a series of sermons based upon The Trail of Blood by the revered J. M. Carroll, presents in a simple, enlightening, and easy to read fashion, the story of these precious souls who lived pure lives and died for the simple truths which are often taken advantage of today.Baptists of today need to become more aware of the struggles borne by their forefathers and the premium price paid for the maintenance of New Testament truth. Just as we owe the military soldiers a debt for the sacrifices they have made for the cause of personal freedom, so we owe an even greater debt to the soldiers of the cross who suffered and gave their lives to secure our religious freedom, which is taken for granted today. We present this book with the hope that it will be used to make God’s people aware of their glorious past. We pray that the all-wise God will see fit to use this work to once again enlighten His people and to give them the courage to stand for the truths contained in His precious Word.

Through his work as a barber, he recognised how important it was to encourage men to talk to each other. He knew that if he could just help men to open up, then perhaps he could save lives. And so the 'Lions Barber Collective' was born: an international group of top barbers, all of which came together to encourage conversation and help raise awareness for the prevention of suicide.

Barco a la deriva

by Gláucio Imada Tamura

Soon thereafter, David’s life hit a downward spiral. His career came to a standstill, his marriage disintegrated, and his drinking went from a cocktail-hour indulgence to a full-blown addiction. He found himself haunted not only by George A.’s death, but also by his brother’s manic depression, a hereditary illness that overlaid a dark family history whose roots now gripped David.

Barefoot to Avalon is Payne’s earnest and unflinching account of George A. and their boyhood footrace that lasted long into their adulthood, defining their relationship and their lives. As universal as it is intimate, this is an exceptional memoir of brotherhood, of sibling rivalries and sibling love, and of the torments a family can hold silent and carry across generations.

Barefoot Tribe: Take Off Your Shoes and Dare to Live the Extraordinary Life

by Palmer Chinchen

Give your life away and discover God’s unique purpose for you.As a first grader living deep in the Liberian jungle, Palmer Chinchen watched a young African girl quietly pull the shoes off her feet—her only shoes, her only protection from the parasites that crawl between the toes of so many tribal children—to slip them on his sister’s feet, whose shoes were left behind in their burning bamboo mat house in the bush. That image of tribal love and empathy has stayed with Palmer and continues to drive his passions.Today, Palmer sees a new kind of tribe forming with the same kind of desires, a tribe of people who are bothered by the brokenness all around, who are passionate about goodness, justice, and beauty. They are leaving their places of comfort to feed the hungry, give clean water to the thirsty, build houses for the homeless, share clothes with the shivering and shoes with the barefoot. This tribe is ready to change the world for good, and we, too, must heed that call today.Conversational, fresh, and accessible, Barefoot Tribe dares us to break past the safe confines of our manicured suburbs and polished shopping malls to take action, take risks, and remake the world into one more like what Jesus had in mind.Your time to act is now. God wants your life. Will you speak up, step out, and do something incredible…today?

Baroque Horrors: Roots of the Fantastic in the Age of Curiosities

by David R. Castillo

"Baroque Horrors is a textual archeologist's dream, scavenged from obscure chronicles, manuals, minor histories, and lesser-known works of major artists. Castillo finds tales of mutilation, mutation, monstrosity, murder, and mayhem, and delivers them to us with an inimitable flair for the sensational that nonetheless rejects sensationalism because it remains so grounded in historical fact." ---William Egginton, Johns Hopkins University. Baroque Horrors turns the current cultural and political conversation from the familiar narrative patterns and self-justifying allegories of abjection to a dialogue on the history of our modern fears and their monstrous offspring. When life and death are severed from nature and history, "reality" and "authenticity" may be experienced as spectator sports and staged attractions, as in the "real lives" captured by reality TV and the "authentic cadavers" displayed around the world in the Body Worlds exhibitions. Rather than thinking of virtual reality and staged authenticity as recent developments of the postmodern age, Castillo looks back to the Spanish baroque period in search for the roots of the commodification of nature and the horror vacui that accompanies it. Aimed at specialists, students, and readers of early modern literature and culture in the Spanish and Anglophone traditions as well as anyone interested in horror fantasy, Baroque Horrors offers ways to rethink broad questions of intellectual and political history and relate them to the modern age. David Castillo is Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University at Buffalo, SUNY.

He is devasted when none of his friends come to his aid. He spends his last two years of elementary at a small Catholic school. His life changes after he is unexpectedly left in Los Angeles at the age of fourteen. His aging grandparents live in the middle of the rugged City Terrace barrio in East LA. He is homesick and has trouble dealing with a demanding grandmother showing early symptoms of Alzheimer's. He plans to ride his bicycle 440 miles back to Phoenix, when God changes his plan. He visits a seminary in Compton, CA and makes a hasty decision to become a priest. He spends his first two years of high school at Dominguez Seminary. After he decides to quit his quest for the priesthood, the book describes the struggles of re-entering into a "normal" adolescence in the barrio of Phoenix. Most of his experiences are centered on working in a dysfunctional job environment at a nearby grocery store. As the young man continues into his latter teenage years, he begins to change gradually for the worse. He discovers his fondness of alcohol that later becomes an addiction. His struggles continue as he tries to figure out his purpose in life. He is rescued from all of this when he escapes the barrio by joining the Navy. The purpose of the book is to show others with similar beginnings what brought him to believe in the manner he currently does. It is not meant to say, "The way I believe is right, and you are wrong" or to put down anyone&’s beliefs. The book is intended to encourage the reader to take a closer look at what they truly believe. Scripture is used to shine light on Jesus as the way to the Father. It is emphasized the way explicitly and not one of the ways to the Father.Barrio Walk is a story of Hope interspersed with humor and scripture. The book shows glimpses of the future with the sharing of the author's born-again experience much later in life. The final chapter is one of triumph as it describes his father&’s acceptance of Christ and his "jump" into Eternal life at his moment of death.
