20 व्या शतकातील जगाचा इतिहास (1914-1992) [History of the World in 20th Century (1914-1992)] हे पुस्तक सावित्रिबाई फुले पुणे विद्यापिठाच्या जून 2015 च्या सुधारित अभ्यासक्रमानुसार तसेच यू. जी. सी. अभ्यासक्रमावर आधारित आणि महाराष्ट्रातील सर्व विद्यापीठांच्या पदवी व पदव्युत्तर स्तरावरील विद्यार्थी व अभ्यासकांना उपयुक्त संदर्भ ग्रंथ आहे. पुणे विद्यापीठ अभ्यास मंडळाने केलेल्या नियोजनानुसार 2015-16 या शैक्षणिक वर्षापासून तृतीय 'वर्ष कला'व्या जनरल पेपर-3 साठी 'विसाव्या शतकातील जगाचा इतिहास' (1941-1992) हा विषय सुरू केला आहे. या अभ्यासक्रमाच्या पहिल्या सत्रात पाच प्रकरणे तर दुसऱ्या सत्रात चार प्रकरणे अशी एकूण नऊ प्रकरणे आहेत. त्यांपैकी पहिले प्रकरण 'संकल्पनांचा अभ्यास’ हे असून त्यात एकूण बारा संकल्पनांवर लेखन केले आहे. दुसरे प्रकरण पहिले महायुद्ध हे असून त्यात सुरुवातीला कारणे व परिणाम यांवर चर्चा केली असून पॅरिस शांता परिषद आणि राष्ट्रसंघाच्या कार्याचे टीकात्मक परीक्षण केले आहे. तिसरे करण रशियन राज्यक्रांतीचे असून त्यात सुरुवातीस सामाजिक, आर्थिक आणि राजकीय पार्श्वभूमी विशद केली आहे. या क्रांतीतील लेनिनचे योगदान देताना त्याचे नवीन आर्थिक धोरण तसेच स्टॅलिन व त्याच्या काळातील पंचवार्षिक योजनांवर प्रकाश टाकला आहे. चौथे प्रकरण हुकूमशाहीचा उदय हे असून त्यात इटली, जर्मनी व तुर्कस्तान या राष्ट्रातील अनुक्रमे मुसोलिनी, हिटलर व केमाल पाशा या हुकूमशहांच्या कारकिर्दीचा सर्वांगीण आढावा घेतला आहे. पाचदे प्रकरण महामंदी हे असून त्याचे स्वरूप, कारणे व परिणामांचे विवेचन करताना महामंदी दूर व्हावी यासाठी तत्कालीन विविध उपाययोजनांची सविस्तर चर्चा केली आहे.
