Advanced System Development Technologies I (Studies in Systems, Decision and Control #511)

by Artur Zaporozhets Mykhailo Bezuglyi Nadiia Bouraou Volodymyr Mykytenko Grygoriy Tymchyk

This book covers vibroacoustic monitoring, inertial attitude systems, and control system for device processing in complex objects. Modern approaches to the synthesis of algorithmic support for a strapdown inertial attitude system are considered. The general characteristics of navigation systems and the composition of their inertial measurement unit are given. The methods of initial alignment of the system on a stationary base are described. Particular attention is paid to the attitude kinematic parameters of the body frame and methods of their numerical integration. Picard's methods for integrating the Bortz and Poisson kinematic equations are shown. An algorithm for a strapdown inertial attitude system based on using real signals of high-precision laser gyroscopes is proposed. System simulation was carried out using the proposed algorithmic methods. The relevance of the control system created for the processing device parts in the conditions of automated manufacturing is substantiated. Theoretical studies are presented, and the relation between electrical signals, the level of tool wear, and the main reasons for generating electrical signals are identified. A mathematical model of cutting tool wear control was developed based on measuring the variable component of cutting electromotive force. A control system for processing device parts on computer numerical control machines in automated production conditions has been developed. It allows for recording critical wear and breakage of the cutting tool, performing its dimensional adjustment directly on the device, and carrying out its industrial approval in flexible production systems.

Advanced System Development Technologies II (Studies in Systems, Decision and Control #581)

by Artur Zaporozhets Mykhailo Bezuglyi Nadiia Bouraou Volodymyr Mykytenko Grygoriy Tymchyk

This book is the second in the series Advanced System Development Technologies: Studies in Systems, Decision and Control. As in the previous volume, the sections of the book are grouped into three directions: optoelectronic technologies, medical technologies, and technological support. The prerequisites for solving the problem of increasing the efficiency of mechanical assembly production are presented, based on the creation of a new method and system for technological preparation of small-scale production in instrument engineering, which takes into account the dominant influence of assembly processes on the time and cost of instrument manufacturing. A new structure and sequence for the technological preparation of instrument production with a formalized relationship between machining and assembly production are proposed. A new model of an assembled product in instrument engineering has been developed, taking into account the labor intensity and specifics of assembly, adjustment, and control-measurement operations, as well as methods for automated design of technological assembly processes. Additionally, a functional model for forming the product structure based on the labor intensity of manufacturing assembly units is proposed, allowing for the formulation of a substantiated plan for the production of parts. A mathematical model of the assembly sequence has also been developed, enabling the construction of an assembly sequence considering organizational and technical factors.

Advanced Systems for Environmental Monitoring, IoT and the application of Artificial Intelligence (Studies in Big Data #143)

by Mourade Azrour Jamal Mabrouki

Environmental risks put one in six people at risk, as well as our complex ecosystems. Today, IoT sites can monitor the environment and assess risks. Clean technologies can help detect toxic substances, chemical spills, hazardous pollutants, and other issues, enabling both governments and industries to clean or protect the air, land, water, and other environments, and how IoT can support these processes. IoT-enabled environmental intelligence is the constant measurement and collection of our physical environment, through sensors and smart devices. Integrated sensors in irrigation facilities, water supply systems, pipelines, cisterns, weather stations, ocean, and industrial facilities—anywhere on the globe—can record temperature, relative humidity, water content, leaks, and any other physical parameters.

Advanced Systems-Level Problem Solving, Volume 1: Approaching Real-World Complexity with Dialectical Thinking

by Otto Laske

This three-volume set introduces the practice of advanced, ‘dialectical’ systems-level problem solving in both the social and natural sciences. In social science, it opens new vistas regarding organizational, strategy, and work design. In the natural sciences, it provides heretofore missing conceptions of physical systems in peril due to the climate crisis. In addition, the author draws conclusions that are important for advancing generative AI. The monograph presents novel conceptual tools that directly impact the internal structure of a systems analyst’s mental processing in real time. While the first volume lays the theoretical groundwork for dialectical systems analysis, the second, focusing on the nature of work, lays bare the structure of complex thinking in terms of the ‘thought forms’ it requires. In order to facilitate better understanding of the principles taught in the first two volumes, the third volume provides a Manual of Dialectical Thought Forms, which is the only one in existence today.

Advanced Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Systems: Delay and Saturation (Studies in Systems, Decision and Control #8)

by Abdellah Benzaouia Ahmed El Hajjaji

This monograph puts the reader in touch with a decade's worth of new developments in the field of fuzzy control specifically those of the popular Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) type. New techniques for stabilizing control analysis and design based on multiple Lyapunov functions and linear matrix inequalities (LMIs), are proposed. All the results are illustrated with numerical examples and figures and a rich bibliography is provided for further investigation. Control saturations are taken into account within the fuzzy model. The concept of positive invariance is used to obtain sufficient asymptotic stability conditions for the fuzzy system with constrained control inside a subset of the state space. The authors also consider the non-negativity of the states. This is of practical importance in many chemical, physical and biological processes that involve quantities that have intrinsically constant and non-negative sign: concentration of substances, level of liquids, etc. Results for linear systems are then extended to linear systems with delay. It is shown that LMI techniques can usually handle the new constraint of non-negativity of the states when care is taken to use an adequate Lyapunov function. From these foundations, the following further problems are also treated: · asymptotic stabilization of uncertain T-S fuzzy systems with time-varying delay, focusing on delay-dependent stabilization synthesis based on parallel distributed controller (PDC); · asymptotic stabilization of uncertain T-S fuzzy systems with multiple delays, focusing on delay-dependent stabilization synthesis based on PDC with results obtained under linear programming; · design of delay-independent, observer-based, H-infinity control for T-S fuzzy systems with time varying delay; and · asymptotic stabilization of 2-D T-S fuzzy systems. Advanced Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy Systems provides researchers and graduate students interested in fuzzy control systems with further approaches based LMI and LP.
