Hasta que ruja el León: Firmes en la batalla por la verdad

by Miguel Núñez

Not Until the Lion RoarsIn Not Until the Lion Roars, Dr. Miguel Nuñez provides a biblical, theological, and practical analysis of a key topic that is of key importance to every believer: spiritual warfare. Gain a more complete understanding of what the Bible teaches about spiritual warfare and how and where this war is being waged so that you can fight back based on the Truth: The Word of God.Every single day a battle is being waged within us for mastery of our mind. God wants us to love Him with all our heart, soul, strength, and mind, while Satan wants our mind because he knows that if he conquers it, he will have conquered our lifestyle. This tug of war affects how we perceive the world around us, our ministry, mental health, relationships, and, most importantly, our relationship with God.In Not Until the Lion Roars, Dr. Miguel Nuñez uncovers one of the most widely misunderstood and misinterpreted topics in Christianity. Using several key examples from Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, this book provides a biblical, theological, and practical analysis for understanding...What spiritual warfare isHow it is understoodHow to fight itUltimately, you will be challenged to see that the only offensive weapon in the armor of God is the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.It is time to wear the armor of God, stand firm, and secure victory over Satan&’s on-going assault in your life. Time Traveler: In Search of Dinosaurs and Other Fossils from Montana to Mongolia

by Michael Novacek

Hunting for fossils with a preeminent guide and teacherMichael Novacek, a world-renowned paleontologist who has discovered important fossils on virtually every continent, is an authority on patterns of evolution and on the relationships among extinct and extant organisms. Time Traveler is his captivating account of how his boyhood enthusiasm for dinosaurs became a lifelong commitment to vanguard science. He takes us with him as he discovers fossils in his own backyard in Los Angeles, then goes looking for them in the high Andes, the black volcanic mountains of Yemen, and the incredibly rich fossil badlands of the Gobi desert.Wherever Novacek goes he searches for still undiscovered evidence of what life was like on Earth millions of years ago. Along the way he has almost drowned, been stung by deadly scorpions, been held at gunpoint by a renegade army, and nearly choked in raging dust storms. Fieldwork is very demanding in a host of unusual, dramatic, sometimes hilarious ways, and Novacek writes of its alluring perils with affection and discernment. But Time Traveler also makes sense of many complex themes - about dinosaur evolution, continental drift, mass extinctions, new methods for understanding ancient environments, and the evolutionary secrets of DNA in fossil organisms. It is also an enthralling adventure story.

In Universes: A Novel

by Emet North

A Most Anticipated Book of 2024 by Tor.com, Bustle, Literary Hub, Autostraddle, Gizmodo, IGN, and Lilith Magazine "An explosion of creative beauty and heart."–Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, author of Chain-Gang All-Stars"Baffingly good." –Jordy Rosenberg, author of Confessions of the Fox"A miracle of physics and art." –Julia Phillips, author of Disappearing EarthFor fans of Emily St. John Mandel and Kelly Link, a profoundly imaginative debut novel set in numerous universes, which follows a queer physicist’s search for belonging across time and space.Raffi works in an observational cosmology lab, searching for dark matter and trying to hide how little they understand their own research. Every chance they get, they escape to see Britt, a queer sculptor who fascinates them for reasons they also don’t—or won’t—understand. As Raffi’s carefully constructed life begins to collapse, they become increasingly fixated on the multiverse and the idea that somewhere, there might be a universe where they mean as much to Britt as she does to them…and just like that, Raffi and Britt are thirteen years old, best friends and maybe something more. In Universes is a mind-bending tour across parallel worlds, each an answer to the question of what life would be like if events had played out just a little differently. The universes grow increasingly strange: women fracture into hordes of animals, alien-infested bears prowl apocalyptic landscapes. But across them all, Raffi—alongside their sometimes-friends, sometimes-lovers Britt, Kay, and Graham—reaches for a life that feels authentically their own.Blending realism with science fiction, In Universes explores the thirst for genius, the fluidity of gender and identity, and the pull of the past against the desire to lead a meaningful life. Part Ted Chiang, part Carmen Maria Machado, part Everything Everywhere All At Once, In Universes insists on the transgressive power of hope even in the darkest of times.

Grounding in Medieval Philosophy (Historical-Analytical Studies on Nature, Mind and Action #14)

by Calvin G. Normore Stephan Schmid

This book offers a selection of 13 case studies on how the notion of grounding helps illuminate philosophical discussions of our past with a special focus on debates of the Middle Ages. It thereby makes not only the case that the notion of grounding, which has become so widely debated in analytic metaphysics, has a long and venerable tradition, but also shows that this tradition has a lot to teach to contemporary philosophers of grounding. This is because the historical authors discussed in this volume – that is, Aristotle, Fazang, Boethius, Avicenna, Abelard, Aquinas, Scotus, Ockham, Buridan, Suárez, Leibniz, and others – suggested different types of non-efficient-causal explanations which are to be carefully distinguished. This volume illustrates how philosophy and history of philosophy can be mutually illuminating by showing that the terminology developed in the contemporary debate about grounding can help reconstruct philosophical discussions from Antiquity up to the Early Modern Period, and that these very discussions enrich, and in part challenge the contemporary debate about grounding. In this vein, it is an important reading for everyone interested in the history of grounding and the philosophical insights that this history might have left to us.

Hitler: Dictator or Puppet?

by Andrew Norman

Written by an authority on Adolf Hitler, this book charts new ground and shows how the writings of a deluded ex-monk, Lanz von Liebenfels and the pseudo-science of Liebenfels and other writers, convinced Hitler that Germanys destiny was to save the world from a Jewish-Bolshevik conspiracy. It was this perverted sense of destiny that drove the Nazi Party and led to the outbreak of WWII and the deaths of some sixty million people as well as the destruction of much of Europe. Using the writings of Liebenfels from his magazine Ostara, Dr Andrew Norman demonstrates how the mass murders of Jews, Gypsies, mentally-ill people and those regarded as less than human had its roots in articles written by Liebenfels. An index of Ostara articles is included and their very titles indicate the malign influences that shaped Hitlers Germany.
