Creation, Power, and Truth: The Gospel in a World of Cultural Confusion
by N. T. WrightIn Creation, Power and Truth, N. T. Wright invites readers to consider the crucial ways in which the Christian gospel challenges and subverts the intellectual, moral, and political values that pervade contemporary culture. In doing so, he asks searching questions about three defining characteristics of our time:Neo-gnosticismNeo-imperialismPostmodernityEmploying a robust Trinitarian framework, Wright looks afresh at key elements of the biblical story while drawing out new and unexpected connections between ancient and modern worldviews. The result is a vigorous critique of common cultural assumptions and controlling narratives, past and present, and a compelling read for all who want to hear, speak, and live the gospel of Christ in a world of cultural confusion.

Still Time to Care: What We Can Learn from the Church’s Failed Attempt to Cure Homosexuality
by Greg JohnsonCharting the path forward for our churches and ministries in providing care—not a cure— for our non-straight sisters and brothers who are living lives of costly obedience to Jesus. At the start of the gay rights movement in 1969, evangelicalism's leading voices cast a vision for gay people who turn to Jesus. It was C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, Francis Schaeffer and John Stott who were among the most respected leaders within theologically orthodox Protestantism. We see with them a positive pastoral approach toward gay people, an approach that viewed homosexuality as a fallen condition experienced by some Christians who needed care more than cure. With the birth and rise of the ex-gay movement, the focus shifted from care to cure. As a result, there are an estimated 700,000 people alive today who underwent conversion therapy in the United States alone. Many of these patients were treated by faith-based, testimony-driven parachurch ministries centered on the ex-gay script. Despite the best of intentions, the movement ended with very troubling results. Yet the ex-gay movement died not because it had the wrong sex ethic. It died because it was founded on a practice that diminished the beauty of the gospel.Yet even after the closure of the ex-gay umbrella organization Exodus International in 2013, the ex-gay script continues to walk about as the undead among us, pressuring people like me to say, "I used to be gay, but I'm not gay anymore. Now I'm just same-sex attracted."For orthodox Christians, the way forward is to take a close look at our history. It is time again to focus with our Neo-Evangelical fathers on caring over attempting to cure. With warmth and humor, as well as original research, Still Time to Care provides:Guidance for the gay person who hears the gospel and finds themselves smitten by the life-giving call of Jesus.Guidance for the church to repent of its homophobia and instead offer gospel-motivated love and compassion.

Ezekiel: Redemption for God's People (MacArthur Bible Studies)
by John F. MacArthurEzekiel was among the thousands of Jews taken captive when the Babylonians invaded Judah in 597 bc. It was there that God called him to be a prophet, and for the next twenty-two years, he related the visions, prophecies, and signs the Lord gave him to his fellow Jews living in exile. While these prophecies often contained warnings of severe judgments if the people did not repent, they also contained incredible messages of hope—including more details about the future millennial kingdom of Christ than all other Old Testament prophecies combined. In the twelve studies within, join John MacArthur to focus on Ezekiel's visions, prophecies, parables, signs, and symbols proclaiming and dramatizing the message of God to His exiled people. By working through this study, you will learn that in your life, just like the people of Israel, God holds each individual accountable for pursuing righteousness. The MacArthur Bible Studies provide intriguing examinations of the whole of Scripture. Each guide incorporates extensive commentary, detailed observations on overriding themes, and probing questions to help you study the Word of God with guidance from John MacArthur.
