The goal of this book is to capture these developments and to appeal to a clinical and medical audience beyond the one which was the primary target of "25 years of p53".
p53 in Breast Cancer: Molecular Mechanisms, Clinical Implications, and Therapeutic Targets
by Manzoor Ahmad Mirp53 in Breast Cancer: Molecular Mechanisms, Clinical Implications, and Therapeutic Targets comprehensively reviews the role of p53 in breast cancer development, progression, and treatment. It explores the multifaceted functions of p53, from its fundamental connection to breast cancer and pathway mechanisms to its influence on cancer metabolism and the impact of mutational alterations. The initial chapters discuss the complex landscape of p53's involvement in cancer metabolism, the ramifications of its mutations, and its crucial role as a tumor suppressor. p53 Protocols
by Swati Palit Deb Sumitra DebAn indispensable collection of novel techniques that have proven most useful for studying the physiological properties of p53 both in vitro and in vivo. The techniques provide proven solutions to problems in studying the purification, target identification, gene expression, quantitation, interaction, signaling, transactivation, and transrepression of p53. The methods are also useful for delineating the functions of other proteins that may act as tumor or growth suppressors. Each technique includes step-by-step instructions, troubleshooting notes, a theoretical review, and discussion of associated problems that might arise during the course of investigation.
p-adic Hodge Theory (Simons Symposia #210)
by Bhargav Bhatt Martin OlssonThis proceedings volume contains articles related to the research presented at the 2017 Simons Symposium on p-adic Hodge theory. This symposium was focused on recent developments in p-adic Hodge theory, especially those concerning integral questions and their connections to notions in algebraic topology. This volume features original research articles as well as articles that contain new research and survey some of these recent developments. It is the first of three volumes dedicated to p-adic Hodge theory.

p-adic Banach Space Representations: With Applications to Principal Series (Lecture Notes in Mathematics #2325)
by Dubravka BanThis book systematically develops the theory of continuous representations on p-adic Banach spaces. Its purpose is to lay the foundations of the representation theory of reductive p-adic groups on p-adic Banach spaces, explain the duality theory of Schneider and Teitelbaum, and demonstrate its applications to continuous principal series. Written to be accessible to graduate students, the book gives a comprehensive introduction to the necessary tools, including Iwasawa algebras, p-adic measures and distributions, p-adic functional analysis, reductive groups, and smooth and algebraic representations. Part 1 culminates with the duality between Banach space representations and Iwasawa modules. This duality is applied in Part 2 for studying the intertwining operators and reducibility of the continuous principal series on p-adic Banach spaces. This monograph is intended to serve both as a reference book and as an introductory text for graduate students and researchers entering the area.
p-Laplace Equation in the Heisenberg Group
by Diego RicciottiThis works focuses on regularity theory for solutions to the p-Laplace equation in the Heisenberg group. In particular, it presents detailed proofs of smoothness for solutions to the non-degenerate equation and of Lipschitz regularity for solutions to the degenerate one. An introductory chapter presents the basic properties of the Heisenberg group, making the coverage self-contained. The setting is the first Heisenberg group, helping to keep the notation simple and allow the reader to focus on the core of the theory and techniques in the field. Further, detailed proofs make the work accessible to students at the graduate level.
outskirts
by Sue GoyetteWinner of the 2012 Pat Lowther Memorial Award Winner of the 2012 Atlantic Poetry Prize Sue Goyette's outskirts is a tour de force. origin story: poems (Mary Burritt Christiansen Poetry Series)
by Gary Jacksonorigin story outlines a family history of distant sisters, grieving mothers and daughters, and alcoholic fathers. These poems take us from Kansas to Korea and back again in an attempt to reconnect with estranged family and familial ghosts divided by years of diaspora. An interrogation of cultural and personal myths, origin story wrestles with the questions: Who will remember us? How do we deal with the failures of memory? Whose stories are told?
orient
by Gillian Wigmoreorient is the third collection from one of Western Canada's most accomplished poets. Composed mainly of three long poems—an extended meditation on the connection between man and fish, the lament of a big-souled cowboy poet looking up from rock bottom, and a historical envisioning of an intimate relationship between a pioneer and a powerful crone—orient leaps, sings, burrows down, and orients the reader within its rich ecosystem. The appeal of these poems lies partly in their blend of humility (the open-minded approach), in their force (the taut style, the original vision) and in an astonishing boldness. Wigmore is a "poet of place"; in the best sense: "about the big picture."
or, on being the other woman
by Simone WhiteIn or, on being the other woman, Simone White considers the dynamics of contemporary black feminist life. Throughout this book-length poem, White writes through a hybrid of poetry, essay, personal narrative, and critical theory, attesting to the narrative complexities of writing and living as a black woman and artist. She considers black social life—from art and motherhood to trap music and love—as unspeakably troubling and reflects on the degree to which it strands and punishes black women. She also explores what constitutes sexual freedom and the rewards and dangers that come with it. White meditates on trap music and the ways artists such as Future and Meek Mill and the sonic waves of the drum machine convey desire and the black experience. Charting the pressures of ordinary black womanhood, White pushes the limits of language, showing how those limits can be the basis for new modes of expression.

onefinestay
by Jill Avery Anat Keinan Liz KindMiranda Cresswell, marketing director, and Greg Marsh, founder and CEO of onefinestay, were grappling with branding and positioning dilemmas. onefinestay offered high-end home rentals to travelers who sought a more authentic and local experience than a typical upscale hotel might provide. onefinestay's brand had been "hacked" together quickly during the company's early years. After five years of rapid growth, Marsh brought Cresswell on board to do a comprehensive analysis of the company's brand and its positioning in the marketplace. Cresswell had spent several months gathering data and insights, and was starting to experiment with use case scenarios that took a crack at segmenting the company's customers. The preliminary results were interesting, but raised more questions than they answered, and Cresswell wondered if this was the best way to segment the market. While segmenting in this way was intriguing, it led to a branding challenge-as a start-up, it was difficult for onefinestay to have the resources to support multiple brand messages in the marketplace and different segments wanted different things from their travel experience. She pondered whether there were other ways to group customers that would allow for a more universal positioning for the brand or whether the company needed to focus on one or two segments to serve. Positioning the fledgling brand was a challenge. Who was the company competing against and how could it carve out a unique value proposition that would appeal to travelers and be differentiated from what was offered by other hospitality options? Was its current moniker "the unhotel" working for or against it?
