Identity Construction and Tourism Consumption: A Grounded Theory Approach

Shifting Paradigms of Evil in Philosophy: Reading the Armenian Genocide with the Shoah (Routledge Studies in Contemporary Philosophy)

Drawing on resources mainly from philosophy and historical studies, it argues for the relationality and continuity between political evils, using the Armenian Genocide and the Shoah as main examples.The book begins by unpacking a series of limiting assumptions that define the philosophical study of evil. These assumptions crystallize in the idea that evil is an inscrutable phenomenon, what the author calls the paradigm of evil’s inscrutability. Tracing this paradigm through the legacies of five key philosophers—Plato, Augustine, Kant, Arendt, and Levinas—the author shows that by the time we arrive at 20th century, the framing of political evils like the Shoah as inscrutable and exceptional is profoundly constraining; it erases Shaoh's continuity and connection with other atrocities, including the 1915 Armenian Genocide. The book next turns to practices and ideologies that connect the Armenian Genocide to the Shoah to propose an alternative paradigm for thinking about evil: a paradigm of the continuity of evils. Fractional Differential and Integral Operators with Respect to a Function: Theory Methods and Applications (Industrial and Applied Mathematics)

However, discrepancies between mathematical models and experimental data led to the development of extended integral forms, such as the Riemann–Stieltjes integral and fractional integrals, which integrate functions with respect to another function or involve convolutions with kernels. These extensions also gave rise to new types of derivatives, leading to fractional derivatives and integrals with respect to another function. While there has been limited theoretical exploration in recent years, this book aims to bridge that gap. It provides a comprehensive theoretical framework covering inequalities, nonlinear ordinary differential equations, numerical approximations, and their applications. Additionally, the book delves into the existence and uniqueness of solutions for nonlinear ordinary differential equations involving these advanced derivatives, as well as the development of numerical techniques for solving them.

In successive parts the text approaches the problem of putting the theory to work from both ends, theoretical and practical. The first part begins with a stress on solid control theory and the shaping of that theory to solve particular instances of practical problems. It emphasizes the need to establish by experiment whether a model-derived solution will perform properly in reality. The second part focuses on real industrial applications based on the needs and requirements of end-users.
