In Platforms to Pillars, cultural expert Mark Sayers explores how platform mentality is misshaping our contemporary world and contrasts this to the biblical call of Christians to live as pillars.By looking at the ancient world—a world remarkably similar to our own—Sayers explores the flaws of a platform society. Sayers takes a deep dive into the influence and allure of digital platforms on individuals and society, and he invites readers to envision a legacy that lives beyond themselves. Like columns in buildings, human pillars provide support and strength. They work together to create space for others, partnering with God as He advances His kingdom in the world. Human pillars fortify and protect community through virtue and character and pass these values to others.Sayers shows us how to delight in God&’s presence, enjoying the freedom that flows from belonging to Him. A much-needed corrective, Platforms to Pillars models a biblical and better way for Christians to live.

Fake Christianity: 10 Traps of an Inauthentic Faith (and How to Avoid Them)

by Jed Coppenger

We are the problem. But Jesus can save us from ourselves.Fake Christianity is deceptive and deadly. And, unfortunately, it's very much alive today. We can easily recognize problems and hypocrisy around us. But it takes humility and courage to face the error and deception within us. With a pastoral heart, Jed Coppenger shows us how unnoticed hypocrisy, like prayerlessness, neglect of the Bible, gossip, bitterness, and every form of ungodliness, compromise our heart and weaken our Christian witness. In Fake Christianity, Coppenger looks to the teachings of Jesus that address a culture remarkably like our own. He exposes ten traps of inauthentic faith and provides a gospel-centric response. The best way to tell a fake thing is to look at the real thing. That's true when looking at gems. It's also true of the Christian life. If we want to understand what's true and good, we must look to Jesus. And we must listen to Him.I'm praying that God would use this book to help Christians hear Jesus' words more clearly. I hope every reader will be better equipped to join Jesus as He pushes back the darkness of hypocrisy with the light of the gospel.

This Light of Mine: Living Like Jesus in a Non-Jesus World

by Joseph M Stowell

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psalm 11:3Followers of Christ have every right to be concerned about the troubling shifts in our culture. On nearly every front things are different. Much of what we see is a direct contradiction to divinely revealed truth and the convictions we hold dear. At times, we feel like we&’ve lost the battle for what&’s good and right. The challenge for us now? To respond in ways that communicate the gospel without alienating people who need to hear about the good news of Christ's redemptive work. Unfortunately, many of us have responded with a sense of hopelessness and despair. Others have entwined evangelicalism with political alignments. Both strategies have made our message less than attractive and have betrayed the hope we have to offer a world gone wrong. This Light of Mine is a call to evangelicals to pivot from being consumed in a battle for our earthly kingdom and to embrace the privilege of advancing the kingdom of Christ. Drawing from the Scriptures and the life of Jesus, Joe Stowell provides a hope-filled, courageous response that empowers us to light up the darkness by living like Jesus in a non-Jesus world.
